Terland cannot wait to meet the fans

A number of new signings will get their first taste of what it's like to play at Old Trafford this weekend as Manchester United Women face West Ham United in the WSL season opener.

New captain Maya Le Tissier will lead the team out at the Theatre of Dreams as we look to get three points from our first outing of the season.

Norway international Elisabeth Terland signed for United from Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer but, as a lifelong United fan, she cannot wait to get started.

In her first interview with the club, she said she 'felt at home already' and, with a successful pre-season under her belt, the striker is ready to show the fans what she is capable of.

Elisabeth says she cannot wait for Saturday's opener.

Having been a fan of the Reds for so long, she's aware of the expectation that comes with wearing the shirt.

“After joining the club, I can really feel the pride behind this club. I haven't been here a long time but I'm really grateful and look forward to doing my best for the team and for this club.

I'm just going to take it all in and, hopefully, do my best to get some good results for the team.“
Terland hopes to get on the scoresheet against the Hammers in what would be a career highlight.

She said:
“I'm a striker so hopefully that's something I can do [score at Old Trafford]. It would be a dream come true and especially in front of the amazing fans. I'm looking forward to it.”

How to watch United Women at Old Trafford

Her team-mates have explained about the loyal fan base that gets behind United home and away but it's something Terland is already familiar with having played against the Reds several times during her career.

“I'm just really excited to finally meet them,”
Terland admitted. “I've played against them a few times and they're really loud and, hopefully, we can make some great memories together.”
